Vitiligo

Vitiligo is the disease name used in Western Medicine, and in Traditional Chinese Medicine it is called as white patch wind and leukoderma. It is a localized depigmentation of skin due to a decrease in melanocytes. Characterized by white spots due to localized or generalized depigmentation, the disease usually has sharp margins, and the hairs from the affected skin may also become white. It has no subjective symptoms and usually occurs among teenagers. The causes for the disease are not determined yet, and possible factors include inheritance, autoimmunity, neurological and mental conditions, autoclasia of melanocyte.
