Insomnia

Insomnia is the syndrome of being unable to get normal sleep, or having difficulty falling asleep, or sleep deprivation, or staying generally in light sleep, with some patients not even being able to fall asleep all night. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is also called “incapability of supination”. The disease pertains to Sleep Disorders in Western Medicine and is deemed to be resulted from long-term excessive stress, mental work, strong thoughts and mood fluctuations and weakness after enduring an illness which generates imbalance between excitation and inhibition of cerebral cortex, leading to a disorder of the cerebral cortex functions.
