Cervical spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis, also called cervical vertebra syndrome, is the various symptoms caused by constriction or irritation to the cervical nerve root, cervical spinal cord, vertebral artery and sympathetic nerve resulting from pathological changes of cervical vertebra or its surrounding soft tissues, such as the intervertebral disc, ligamentum flavum, spinal cord tunica vaginalis, etc. The main clinical characteristic includes soreness of the head, neck, shoulder, arm, chest and other body parts, accompanied with progressive bodily sensations and movement disorders, which may ultimately lead to quadriplegia. Some of its symptoms may refer to the diseases of “pain in neck and shoulder”, “pain in shoulder and back”, “rigidity of nape”, “muscular contracture of neck”, “headache”, “vertigo”, etc., in Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to different compressed arts, cervical spondylosis can be divided into nerve root type, spinal cord type, sympathetic type, vertebral artery type, mixed type, etc. Acupuncture therapy can treat early symptoms such as is pain as well as early stages of various cervical spondylosis.
